A brief note from the author
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my online portfolio: a brief review of my first 22 years of professional life, and hopefully enough context for you to decide whether I might be appropriate for your next brief or not.
As with all retrospectives, difficult decisions must be made in the interests of brevity; and it is for this reason that much of this site focuses on my last decade (or so) of employment, and not the initial 8 years spent managing and directing my own music publishing business—which saw me tour most of the world, sign multiple record deals, and work with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Since my decision to become a marketing strategist in 2006, I’ve worked my way up through the ranks of a number of different agencies and holding groups, offering both specialist and generalist advice on everything from brand, advertising, CRM and content—to media, social, digital and design.
For the last three years I have been the Head of Strategy & Experience Design at Matter Of Form – a small independent shop in Shoreditch, London. During this time, I’ve managed a multifaceted team of over 25 people, and worked directly into the CEO, COO and board in turning a highly commoditised digital production offering into one of the UK’s leading agencies for luxury UX, digital design and content strategy.
Moving forwards I’d like to combine my multidisciplinary strategy and experience design skill-sets to help organisations diversify and take both their business and clients to new levels of growth. In fact, my passion for this is so strong that I am currently writing a new business management book on the subject, which I hope to get published by the likes of Kogan Page or Palgrave Macmillan, with whom I have worked with previously.
Again, thank you for your interest in my journey thus far. I hope you find the following body of work interesting, informative, and insightful; I certainly enjoyed creating it.
