Affordable Art Fair is an internationally renowned series of events, taking place in 13 locations across Europe, Asia and North America. In 2015, founder and CEO Will Ramsey asked us to bring his fast-growing yet hard-to-scale business model into the 21st Century - by updating it’s existing analogue delivery infrastructure with a new, more efficient digital service where beneficial.
Over the course of a year we developed and implemented a strategy that sought to improve the two largest areas of opportunity facing the organisation, and in doing so make AAF a truly accessible global brand.
Firstly, we moved the entire application process for gallery- owners from labour-intensive paper submissions and people-oriented review protocols, to a Salesforce and Magento-led digital solution, increasing exhibitor volumes whilst reducing both staff and material costs. And secondly, we combined eCommerce with service design to turn what was once an exclusively in-person experience into a digital one too - allowing galleries and customers to show and trade art online at any time and in any place, under the auspices of Affordable Art Fair.
