When Dr. Martens asked for advice on how they could better leverage eCommerce to differentiate themselves, we tapped into a simple product truth—that every pair of Dr. Martens tells a story—to produce an innovative way for the brand to sell online: by using old, battered and tattered product as an entry point for encouraging new item sales.

Our approach was defined through the rallying cry of ‘Make Your Mark’: a wordplay that describes not just the product’s ability to capture and tell its owners’ life story, but the wider brand and audience truth: that every Dr. Marten’s owner seeks to make a dent in the universe.
